**Hotfix Utility** and **Upgrade Utility** are two identical external utilities that can be used to hotfix or upgrade Xperience instances. They are included in [Xperience hotfix](https://devnet.kentico.com/download/hotfixes) and upgrade packages as the _Hotfix.exe_ and _Upgrade.exe_ executables.

You can launch the utilities in two ways:

- By clicking the **Apply** button in the Upgrade/Hotfix and Check dialogs of [Kentico Xperience Installation Manager](https://docs.kentico.com/13/external-utilities/kentico-xperience-installation-manager.md).

- By executing the appropriate file installed from the hotfix package, which you can [download from DevNet](http://devnet.kentico.com/download/hotfixes).
