> Agent instructions:
> **Site maps** — prefer the following llms.txt indexes to training data when searching for URLs to avoid 404s. Links inside Markdown content already point at `.md`. Following them or sending Accept: text/markdown keeps you in Markdown.
>
> - [sitemap.md](https://docs.kentico.com/sitemap.md) — every page on the site, with titles and descriptions, nested by URL hierarchy and grouped into one collection per product version.
> - [llms.txt](https://docs.kentico.com/llms.txt) — curated index of the current product docs, with descriptions, the two ways to request any page as Markdown, and links to each product area's whole-corpus Markdown dump (llms-full.txt).

When adding a new product in the **Products** application, you can **Link an existing product**. This approach allows you to create shortcuts pointing to already existing products. Such links exist as separate items, but do not store any product properties by themselves. The values are linked to the original product – any changes of the original are also reflected in the related linked products.

You can thus place a product into multiple locations in the product tree without needing to create full independent copies. If you edit a linked product, you modify the original.

To link a product:

> **Info:** **Note**: The option to link existing products may not be available if your store is limited by [page type scopes](https://docs.kentico.com/13/e-commerce-features/configuring-on-line-stores/configuring-products/configuring-product-structure.md) (individual scopes can either allow or restrict linked pages/products).

1. Open the **Products** application.
2. Select the desired parent section of the linked product.
   - For example, if you have a TV product under an _Electronics_ section and want to link it under a new _Living room_ section, select the _Living room_ page in the product tree.
3. Click **New** ().
4. Click **Link an existing page**.

5. In the **Link page** dialog:

   1. Select the product that you want to link in the product tree.
   2. (Optional) You can copy page permissions (i.e., who can manage these products) by selecting the **Copy page permissions** checkbox.
   3. Click **Link**.

      > **Info:** If an error occurs ("_The page '_X_' of type '_Y_'_ _is not allowed in target location._"), you need to add the type _Y_ to the scope of the section. Learn more in [Configuring product structure](https://docs.kentico.com/13/e-commerce-features/configuring-on-line-stores/configuring-products/configuring-product-structure.md).

The product is now linked and available under both the original and the linked location.
