This page describes the two ways how you can place a poll on your website:

> If global polls are not showing up when you are creating a poll, the system administrator can [enable](https://docs.kentico.com/k8/managing-website-content/configuring-the-environment-for-content-editors/configuring-polls.md#configuring-access-to-global-polls) them in **Settings -> Content -> Polls**.

## Adding polls into text

1. Open the **Pages** application.
2. Select the page where you want to have the poll displayed.
3. Place the cursor into the editing area where you want to add the poll.
4. Click the **Insert Poll** button on the [editor](https://docs.kentico.com/k8/managing-website-content/working-with-documents-and-pages/editing-documents-and-pages/using-the-editor.md) toolbar. 5. Click the **Select** button next to the **Poll name** text field. The system displays the **Select poll** dialog.

6. Select a poll.
7. Click **OK**. The system places the poll widget into the editable text area. **Note** that you can double‑click the widget placeholder anytime to display and modify its properties again.
8. Click **Save**.

Make sure the poll looks as desired by switching to **Preview** mode.

## Adding polls using a widget

1. Open the **Pages** application.
2. Select the page where you want to have the poll displayed.
3. Open the menu of the [widget](https://docs.kentico.com/k8/managing-website-content/adding-page-content-through-widgets.md) zone ( ).
4. Click **Add new widget**.
5. Choose the **Forms & Surveys -> Poll** widget and click **Select**.
6. Click the **Select** button next to the **Poll name** text field. A **Select poll** dialog opens.
7. Select a poll.

8. Click **OK**. The system adds the poll widget into the chosen zone.
9. Click **Save** to confirm the change to the page's widget content.

You can check the look of the poll by switching to **Preview** mode and trying to vote.
