Document types

Each page or document in Kentico is of a specific type – a document type. Each document consists of:

• fields (data structure)
• editing form layout
• transformations (design)
• queries

and other settings.

You can work with document types in the Document types application.

Document types are fully customizable – you can add, modify and delete any custom fields. The advantage of using custom document types is that you can define custom structure of documents and store content (data) separate from design.
