Abuse reporting web parts
To enable reporting of abuse, place one of the abuse reporting web parts on a page, or use the abuse reporting functionality in a transformation.
Abuse report web part
The Abuse report web part gives site visitors the possibility to report website abuse such as using indecent expressions, offensive language, etc. In the web part selection dialog (available while placing web parts on a page), you can find this web part in the Abuse report category. You can place the web part into any web part zone on any page. You typically add the Abuse report web part to pages where user input is expected, i.e. pages with Forums, Message boards, Blogs, User contributions, etc.
You only need to set the following two properties in order for the web part to work properly:
- Confirmation text - allows you enter a text message that the system will display to the site visitor after submitting the abuse report.
- Title of abuse report - specifies the title of abuse report that the system will display in the list of abuse reports in the Abuse report application. This property allows you to distinguish between abuse reports submitted on different pages of your website.
In the screenshot below, you can see the web part placed under a forum group on the Forums page of the sample Corporate Site. When a user writes some report text and then clicks Report abuse, the system adds a new report item to the Abuse report application. Read Managing abuse reports for further details.
In-line abuse report web part
If you prefer a small link to an abuse report form, you can use the In-line abuse report web part. The properties are identical with those of the Abuse report web part.
You can use the In-line abuse report web part also in transformations, as explained in Adding abuse reporting functionality to transformations.
When a site visitor clicks the link, a dialog appears allowing the site visitor to report abuse to the site administrators.
