The **Message board** and **Group message board** web parts have the content rating features embedded. This enables live site users to submit a rating along with a comment posted to the message board. To allow content rating features of these web parts, configure the following properties:

- **Enable content rating** - if selected, the content rating features of the web part are enabled.
- **Rating type** - specifies the appearance of the web part. You can select _Stars_, _Radio buttons_ or _Drop-down list_.
- **Max rating value** - specifies the size of the rating scale. For example, if 7 is entered rating is possible on a scale from 1 to 7

When leaving a board message, the system displays the rating control (determined by the **Rating type** property) above the **Name** field. Users can select their rating and after sending the message, the rating is applied.
