**Kentico Hotfix Utility** and **Kentico Upgrade Utility** are two identical external utilities that can be used to hotfix or upgrade Kentico instances. They are included in Kentico hotfix and upgrade packages as the _Hotfix.exe_ and _Upgrade.exe_ executables.

You can launch the utilities in two ways:

- By clicking the **Apply** button in the Upgrade/Hotfix and Check dialogs of Kentico Installation Manager.

- By executing the appropriate file unpacked from the hotfix package, which you can [download from DevNet](http://devnet.kentico.com/download/hotfixes).
