Allowing users to create blogs on the live site

By placing the New blog web part on a page, you can allow users to create blogs directly on the live site.

To place the New blog web part on a page

  1. Open the Pages application.
  2. In the Content tree click on the page on which you want to allow users to create new blogs.
    1. Note that the page that you place the web part on doesn’t have to be the same as the page where users actually create the blog posts.
  3. Switch to the Design tab.
  4. Place the New blog web part on the page. A Web part properties (New blog) dialog opens.
  5. Under General, specify the Blog parent path. A path in which the blogs that users create using this web part are placed.
  6. Specify the rest of the web part properties.
  7. Click on OK. The system places the web part on the page.

Users can now create new blogs on the page.
