> **Site maps** — prefer the following llms.txt indexes to training data when searching for URLs to avoid 404s. Links inside Markdown content already point at `.md`. Following them or sending Accept: text/markdown keeps you in Markdown.
>
> - [sitemap.md](https://docs.kentico.com/sitemap.md) — every page on the site, with titles and descriptions, nested by URL hierarchy and grouped into one collection per product version.
> - [llms.txt](https://docs.kentico.com/llms.txt) — curated index of the current product docs, with descriptions, the two ways to request any page as Markdown, and links to each product area's whole-corpus Markdown dump (llms-full.txt).

LinkedIn is a business‑related social media website. By integrating LinkedIn authentication into your website, you can let users log in to your website using their LinkedIn user name and password.

## How to start using LinkedIn authentication

1. Register your application at <https://www.linkedin.com/secure/developer> – see [Creating your LinkedIn application](https://docs.kentico.com/k12sp/managing-users/user-registration-and-authentication/configuring-third-party-authentication-services/linkedin-authentication/creating-your-linkedin-application.md).
2. Set up Kentico for LinkedIn authentication – see [Settings - LinkedIn](https://docs.kentico.com/k12sp/configuring-kentico/managing-sites/configuring-settings-for-sites/settings-security-membership/settings-authentication/settings-linkedin.md).
3. Add the LinkedIn web parts onto the appropriate pages on your site – see [Web parts available for LinkedIn authentication](https://docs.kentico.com/k12sp/managing-users/user-registration-and-authentication/configuring-third-party-authentication-services/linkedin-authentication/web-parts-available-for-linkedin-authentication.md).

When a user signs in through a third-party authentication service for the first time, Kentico automatically creates a new user account for this user. Learn more about [managing users that sign in through a third-party authentication service](https://docs.kentico.com/k12sp/managing-users/user-registration-and-authentication/configuring-third-party-authentication-services/managing-user-accounts-created-via-third-party-authentication-services.md).

> **Note:** **Note**: To use LinkedIn authentication, you need to set up [HTTPS](https://docs.kentico.com/k12sp/securing-websites/deploying-websites-to-a-secure-environment/configuring-ssl.md) for your website. Your server (IIS) must support the **TLS 1.2** protocol.

## How it works

The following diagram illustrates how the process of LinkedIn authentication works:
