The following table describes the cookies used in Kentico and lists the [level](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/configuring-kentico/adding-cookie-law-consent-to-web-pages/cookie-levels.md) of each cookie:

| CMSPreferredCulture | **Essential** | 1 year | Stores the visitor's preferred [content culture](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/multilingual-websites.md). |
| CMSMobileRedirected | Essential | session end | Indicates if the visitor has been redirected to the mobile version of the website by the [Mobile device redirection](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/developing-websites/developing-websites-for-mobile-devices/creating-separate-website-sections-for-mobile-devices.md) web part. |
| CMSCurrentTheme | Essential | 1 day | Stores the name of the current visual theme to provide proper design to the dialog windows. |
| Webauthtoken | Essential | 3rd party cookie | Live ID authentication cookie. |
| CMSForumPostAnswer | Essential | 1 month | Keeps a list of Question-Answer [forum](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/community-features/forums.md) posts in which the user voted for an answer to prevent repeated votes. |
| CMSVotedPolls | Essential | 1 year | Keeps a list of [polls](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/managing-website-content/polls.md) where the user voted to prevent repeated votes. |
| CMSRatedDocuments | Essential | 1 year | Keeps a list of pages that the user [rated](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/community-features/content-rating.md) to prevent repeated votes. |
| CMSShowDesktopVersion | Essential | 1 year | Indicates that the visitor has switched to the desktop (default) version of the website from a specific device profile. |
| CMSWindowsUser | Essential | session end | Stores information for users who were imported from an Active Directory domain during authentication. |
| .ASPXFORMSAUTH | Essential | set in web.config | Stores the user's encrypted authentication ticket when using forms authentication. |
| CMSPreferredUICulture | **Editor** | 1 year | Stores the preferred UI culture of the user. |
| CMSViewMode | Editor | 1 day | Stores the user's current view mode (Edit, Preview, Design, etc.). |
| CMSImpersonation | Editor | session end | Stores user information when [impersonating a different user](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/managing-users/user-management/impersonating-a-different-user.md) in the administration interface. |
| CMSUserWords | Editor | 1 month | User's custom word dictionary kept by the spell checker. |
| DisplayContentInDesignMode | Editor | session end | Remembers the user's setting of the _Web part content_ checkbox on the Design tab (for example in the Pages application). |

| VisitorStatus | **Visitor** | 20 years | Indicates if the visitor is new or returning. Used for tracking the _visitors_ statistic in [Web analytics](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/on-line-marketing-features/managing-your-on-line-marketing-features/web-analytics.md). |
| Source | Visitor | 50 years | Stores the channel which the user came from (e.g., email, Facebook, Twitter, etc.). |
| Campaign | Visitor | 50 years | Stores the web analytics [Campaign](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/on-line-marketing-features/managing-your-on-line-marketing-features/campaigns.md) assigned to the visitor. |
| TrackedCampaigns | Visitor | 50 years | Stores all the web analytics [Campaigns](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/on-line-marketing-features/managing-your-on-line-marketing-features/campaigns.md), which should be tracked within a JavaScript snippet. |
| UrlReferrer | Visitor | 1 day | Stores the URL referrer from which the user arrives on the website. |
| CurrentContact | Visitor | 50 years | Stores the GUID of the [contact](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/on-line-marketing-features/managing-your-on-line-marketing-features/contact-management/working-with-contacts.md) related to the current site visitor. Used to track activities on the website. |
| CMSAB | Visitor | 2 months | Used to track conversions for the test and maintain consistent page content for the visitor. Stores the name of the page variant assigned to the visitor, the list of performed conversions and information whether visitor is included in A/B testing specified by an [A/B test](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/on-line-marketing-features/managing-your-on-line-marketing-features/optimization-testing/a-b-testing-website-pages.md). |
| CMSMVT | Visitor | 1 month | Stores the combination of variants assigned to the visitor by an [MVT test](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/on-line-marketing-features/managing-your-on-line-marketing-features/optimization-testing/multivariate-testing.md). Used to track conversions for the test and maintain consistent page content for the visitor. |
| CMSNoTestMVT | Visitor | 1 month | Stores the currently selected MVT combination for editors in the administration interface. |
| CMSShoppingCart | Visitor | 1 year | Stores a GUID reference to the user's shopping cart. Allows the system to recover the shopping cart for unregistered customers, even after it is cleared from the cache (for example after an application restart). |
| CMSBodyClass | Visitor | 50 years | Body element class to provide accessibility standards. |
| CMSEdCurrent | Visitor | 1 day | Stores the current step of [Wizard layout](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/developing-websites/developing-websites-using-the-portal-engine/working-with-layout-web-parts.md) web parts. |
| CMSUserPage | Visitor | 20 minutes | Stores the IDs (DocumentID, NodeID) of the last visited page. Used for logging landing and exit page [web analytics](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/on-line-marketing-features/managing-your-on-line-marketing-features/web-analytics.md) and [activities](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/on-line-marketing-features/managing-your-on-line-marketing-features/contact-management/tracking-contact-activities.md). |
| ChatLoggedInToken | Visitor | session end | Stores the login state for the [Chat](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/community-features/chat.md) application (indicates if the user is in the online state). |
| ChatSupportLoggedInToken | Visitor | session end | Indicates if the user is logged in to the support chat. |
| \_\_roomID | Visitor | 4 days | Stores bindings between [groups of chat web parts](https://docs.kentico.com/k10/community-features/chat/setting-up-chat-on-site/grouping-chat-web-parts.md) and chat rooms (for a specific window or tab). |
| chat\_autoinitchat\_displayed\_ | Visitor | 1 hour | Remembers if the _Automatically initiated chat_ web part was shown to the user (prevents multiple chat initiation messages). |
| chat\_kick\_roomid\_ | Visitor | Kick lasting time (seconds) setting | Indicates that the user was kicked from the specified chat room (and is not allowed to return). |
| StrandsSBS\_\* | Visitor | 20 minutes | Used by the Strands Recommender solely for its own purposes. The cookies are managed on the Strands side. |
| CMSStrandsTrackEvent\_\* | Visitor | 20 minutes | Stores persistent HTTP context after a page is reloaded. Used for tracking of shopping cart events. |
| \_\_openid\_selector\_\* | Visitor | 1 year | Stores OpenId user identification for authentication purposes. |
| CMSLandingPageLoaded | Visitor | 20 minutes | Indicates that the landing page has already been visited and the _Landing page_ activity is not logged again for the current visitor. Expires after 20 minutes and the expiration period of the key is renewed every time the website is accessed again. |
